PORTRAITS

In my portrait practice, I explore both the literal and the intangible. Some works depict my own likeness directly, while others seek to translate what cannot be seen—emotions, memories, and internal states—into a tangible, material language. The portrait becomes less about resemblance and more about resonance: a composition of textures, colors, and forms that evoke what words cannot contain. Fragmentation, distortion, and the integration of symbolic elements allow me to navigate between presence and absence, shaping a visual space where the invisible is given form.

This approach extends beyond self-representation to include portraits of others. In these works, I observe and interpret the subject through the same lens—capturing not only their physical features but also the subtle atmospheres, gestures, and inner narratives that define them. Whether representational or abstract, each portrait becomes a map of sensations, a record of what is felt rather than simply what is observed.
