Embroidery & Artistic Textile Repair
“My clothes have an identity. They have a character and a purpose. That’s why they become classics. Because they keep on telling a story. They are still telling it.”
— Vivienne Westwood
Every stitch carries a story. Through embroidery and artistic mending, I transform garments and fabrics into unique pieces — blending preservation, reinvention, and artistry. Whether it’s reviving a beloved jacket, repairing an heirloom, or creating decorative interventions, each work becomes a dialogue between memory, craft, and contemporary expression.
Timeline varies by project scope — from quick turnarounds to more elaborate commissions
This jacquard jacket has evolved into an ongoing embroidery journal — a piece in continuous transformation over the past four years. Conceived as a living archive, it records moments of movement and transition through layered stitches and mending. Each intervention becomes a gesture of repair and reinvention, turning traces of wear into new forms of expression. The piece embodies the dialogue between textile memory, passage, and resilience.
Worn Journal
Visible Repair with Sashiko Technique
This project began with a conversation with the owner about the kind of repair she envisioned. She wanted a visible mend that would preserve the character of the garment without making the intervention too dominant. Using the Japanese sashiko technique, I reinforced worn areas through a series of radiating stitches —like small suns emerging from the fabric. Her preferred colors, black and blue, guided the process, resulting in a subtle yet meaningful repair that honors the jacket’s story while extending its life.

Selected Embroidery & Textile Repair Projects
This collection brings together various embroidery and repair projects — each exploring different ways to extend the life of garments through color, texture, and care. From visible mending to experimental embroidery, every piece becomes a record of time, gesture, and transformation.
Project 1
Sashiko Embroidery on Cotton Workwear Jacket
This piece explores traditional Japanese Sashiko techniques through two classic patterns: “Kaki no Hana” (persimmon flower) and “Yamagata” (mountain form). Each motif was hand-stitched on a cotton workwear jacket, combining geometric precision with a visible mending approach that enhances the tactile and structural qualities of the fabric.
Project 2
Repaired Denim Jacket
The collar of this denim jacket, originally worn out, was repaired using leftover embroidery threads from previous works. The fabric was reinforced through machine stitching and layered thread composition, creating a new textured surface while preserving the character of the original garment.
Project 3
Silk Shirt Restoration
This silk shirt was one of the most challenging pieces to repair due to the delicacy of the fabric and the extent of the damage. Each section was carefully reinforced through layers of visible mending, balancing structure and texture. The final embroidery integrates a subtle palette and geometric rhythm that dialogues with the printed motif of the garment.
Restorative Care
Breathing new life into worn or damaged textiles while preserving their history and character.
Artistic Embroidery
Transforming everyday garments into one-of-a-kind pieces with hand-stitched motifs and embellishments.
Collaborative Process
Together we define your project’s scope — from subtle repairs to bold, creative interventions.
TRANSFORMATIVE PROCESS
The process begins with understanding the story of your garment or textile. Together, we define the scope of the intervention — whether subtle repairs, decorative embroidery, or a full transformation. Based on this vision, I propose creative directions that honor the material’s history while giving it new life. Through dialogue and feedback, the chosen approach is refined into a piece that carries both memory and renewed beauty.
FAQ
-
Most woven fabrics and garments can be considered — from jackets and coats to vintage textiles. Many of the pieces I work on are heirlooms or garments with deep sentimental value. My approach is to preserve their history while renewing them through embroidery and visible mending, so they can continue telling their story.
-
Yes. Garments and textiles in any condition are welcome, even if they are quite worn or fragile. The goal of my practice is not to return them to their original state, but to transform them through visible mending and embroidery. Each intervention becomes an artistic reinterpretation, giving new character and meaning to the piece.
-
It depends on the scale, detail, and hours required. After seeing the garment and discussing your vision, I provide a personalized quote.
-
Not necessarily. My approach emphasizes visible mending — celebrating the repair as part of the garment’s story, often turning flaws into features.
-
Absolutely. Each embroidery begins with your idea — whether initials, botanical drawings, or symbolic references — and is then interpreted through my creative lens. The result is a piece that balances your vision with my artistic direction, ensuring it feels both personal and unique.
